I just bought this laptop and I've had it for about a week. This is my first laptop. I use it for school. I added the i5 processor, 750gb HDD, 9-cell battery and the backlit keyboard. I received it at my door 14 days after placing my order (w/ standard shipping). So far so good. I would recommend the extended battery, to avoid the hassle of having to charge it wherever you go. I'm an average user and so far I havent had to charge it yet within a few days of use. I use this laptop for school. The only downside is that it might be a little too heavy for travel. However, its large size does allow for better cooling. I love the number keypad. The sound system is very good too, and loud!

This lap top is a huge improvement over my last basic laptop of a different brand.
The speakers are more than adequate, I have been asked to turn them down, never happened with the old laptops, I had to plug them into external speakers to hear over the window AC and family background noise!
The lighted keyboard makes it so I don't always have to turn on a light to see to type and it's more comfortable to type on than past laptops.
The Intel(R) HD Graphics & the 3rd generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-3110M Processor make it so I can watch T.V. online without all the choppy and freezing video that I thought was from online issues at the websites or inefficient DSL, which was not the cause after all.
The fan does a good job cooling , no heat in the key board or near the on switch like my last laptop that actually had cooling vents that were never cut out and it began shutting down from over heating until I read on line about the problem and followed the suggestion to hand drill holes in it to solve it so I was able to transfer all the files to this new HP which looks like it has plenty of spacious vents that should be easy to spray the dust out of.
I was very glad I could order Windows 7 and avoid having to deal with Windows 8. It was a major factor in my decision making as far as which brand I chose having never owned an HP before.
My only regret is that I was conservative with my spending and should have gone for the Matte screen, additional graphic card and I-7 processor, this computer meets my needs, but it would have been fun to see what the added perks would be able to do.
I am very pleased with the first week of performance of this machine especially having purchased it online and not having seen or heard it prior to purchase, relying only on the good reviews found on various websites. I hope it will last a very long while.

Product looks, feels great. Performs well for my use running multiple programs (Word, EXCEL, Adobe and internet). Love the 15" screen: upgrated from Acer Aspire One Netbook. Internet connection not as fast compared to other computers on the same network using the same browser. Overall, I am happy with my purchase, pleased with the product quality, and will recommend HP products in the future.

The fast start-ups, the 1920x1080 screen resolution for 16" monitor, the 3.0 usb ports, the dr.dre's beats, the 1tb hd, the quad core processor, the bdrw drive. If you want buy a laptop or a desktop online from HP, get a CTO model.

The Pavilion dv6t-7000 looks like a good laptop when you look at its specs but after using it and getting to know it it isn't all that great.
There are a lot of pros to add here but i'd rather focus on the cons which usually affect your decision to buy the product more than the pros.

- "Beats Audio". A useless marketing gimmick that only messes with your computer's sound. beats audio is simply an equalizer that increases bass and when disabled, changes your sound properties to the LOWEST QUALITY tricking people into thinking beats audio is actually making the sound better.
- comes with a bunch of bloatwares (softwares that come with the computer).
-overheats even when on a table

This HP Pavilion is for my husband. I use a Mac but he has always used a PC. He's the closest thing to computer illiterate you're going to find sitting at a computer all day. His 5-yr-old Pavilion was stolen and I was so grateful to HP that they have updated the same model and made it available with Windows 7 instead of 8. Setting it up was so simple it was nearly mindless. I think after 2 weeks he's forgotten it isn't the same machine. But I certainly notice the speed difference. It's a lot faster and more powerful. Thanks HP - one less headache for me.

The customizable machine has nice features; fast performance, comes with 6 MB RAM, great graphics with a good-sized screen (separate graphics memory), full-sized, (optional) back-lit keyboard. However, it died about 10 days after delivery; we suspect the hard drive - thus, the bad performance rating. After working with Customer Service it has been returned and we await a new machine.

Very fast. Keyboard very smooth usage. Don't really need a numerical keyboard, but, might use it since it's there. Screen is nice and bright and slightly larger than my previous Pavilion. The battery placement seems to have corrected the overheating of my last Pavilion. This one stays very cool.

Overall this is a pretty good laptop for the money. I upgraded to 9 cell battery which extends the run time but doesnt quite make the 9 hours they say. The SDS cache also is a good feature for quick boot up. The construction of this laptop is not as good as my old Dell. It is much lighter and does not exhibit top notch construction and uses cheaper looking plastics. So far I have had no problems with this HP.

I have had this for about 2 weeks. Purchased Windows 7, upgraded to i5, 1TB hard drive, 8GB of RAM, backlit keyboard, and 1GB ram NVIDIA. Machine is lightening fast!
Bloatware, as usual, is time consuming to remove, and all of the HP and Windows updates over the first few days. All of that is normal for a new machine.
Love the finger swipe instead of typing passwords. I agree with previous reviews that the Beats audio could be better (it is excellent on my HTC cell)... however, it is much better than typical standard laptop speakers. Still glad I have it. Love, love, love the backlit keyboard!! Funny how the simple things make me so happy! Battery life is really good too (6 cell).
Just 1 little gripe, not a biggie, more of a personal preference. I like seeing the hard drive light on top/in the front of my machine. This one is on the right side, and I find it awkward having to look at the side to see if it's flashing. Like I said, no biggie just a quirky preference.
I have always owned HP printers and loved them. This is my first HP computer. Previous ones (desktops and laptops) were Dell and Sony Vaio. This is hands down the nicest computer I have ever owned. Very happy with my purchase!

My new laptop is great looking and I love the finger swipe instead of having to use passwords. I had a great selection of features to choose from and ordering online was easy. I received my laptop before it was promised. This is my third HP laptop over a period of time. I would highly recommend Hp laptops!!
