Very Nice!
Date:July 30, 2009
This monitor is great. I went from using a 17in CRT to this hotrod and I couldn't be more pleased. I clean up old photos as a hobby and what a difference. The monitor makes the pictures look amazing. I even got a chance to look at a couple of movies on blue-ray using this monitor. Now I can watch movies and work in my office. Makes my day a little easier.

Do not buy HP monitor
Date:July 27, 2009
I spent more than $450 to buy the monitor 24" HP w2408h, serial #: CND7462M04 about 18 moths ago, the "auto adjustment" keep on for every seconds. Because only 1 year warranty, I wasted my money. very bad!

Checked Digital Frame function only
Date:July 23, 2009
When used as a stand-alone digital photo frame, the aspect ratios of displayed photos were not correct. I have selected "Display Image Size(original)". I measured the height-to-width ratio of a photo and compared to the same photo displayed by PhotoShop program. The difference was about 9.5%. That was not acceptable.
There was an "Aspect" ratio button on the remote control. It switches photos from one of two aspect-ratios. I could not make judgment on the correctness of other one since part of the photo was cropped-out alone the height-direction.
It was purchased for my family room as a stand-alone digital frame. It failed my test. All my photos were in not so common 8.5" x 11" format. But display looked great other then aspect ratios when used as a stand-alone digital photo frame. Colors were vivid, saturated, and truthful enough compared to my calibrated monitor.

HP 25.5 monitor
Date:June 29, 2009
I have had this monitor for 5 months now, and it is one of the best purchaces I have ever made. The screen is crisp, and it will alter the brighness to your room. I use it for watching Movies/TV on my computer, and play Xbox360 on. Both play great, only thing is the built in speakers are a little on the quite side. I bought the Logitech X-540 5.1 speakers shortily after getting this monitor, and the combo works great (speakers come with xbox adapter). I would highily recommend this product to others.

Super Monitor
Date:June 1, 2009
This is a excellent monitor the screen is nicely sized, super especially if you like to do photoshop editing. I like the fact that it has a built in calibration that allows you to calibrate your monitor. It also has a built in card reader tha allows you to play your photos as a digital photo frame.

Review 6 for HP w2558hc 25.5-inch Vivid Color Full HD Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
Great performance plus an endless list of features
Date:May 12, 2009
The HP w2558hc monitor is my favorite HP device ever. This LCD monitor is nice to look at when it is working and when it is off. And every feature I've ever wanted in my previous monitors plus a lot I had never thought of is included in the w2558hc.
The native 1900 x 1200 HD resolution is stunning, and the brightness of the screen adds to the clarity. My favorite photos look better than ever. The monitor has some preset operation modes for games, photos, etc. but I don't use them and instead leave the monitor on its native setting. Everything I've done from reading tiny text to high end games has looked great.
Clad in HP's piano black, the w2558hc will meet your needs and some you didn't know you had. I was first drawn to the size and the image quality when I saw it on display, but when I saw the built in 2 megapixel web cam and microphone and realized I could have one less device on my desk, and then noticed the ambient light sensor I was sold. It wasn't until I got home that the rest of the w2558hc's delights became clear: the two HDMI ports as well as the DVI, the powered USB 2,0 ports, the photo frame feature with remote control, the built in speakers, the audio out jack for use with stand alone speakers, the task light, the fully flexible stand, the wall mount option, cable management and the storage space for my keyboard.
An easy to use program called My Display offers control of the monitor's settings and allows you to turn the ambient light sensor on or off. There is also a program for the webcam or you can easily use others. Do I have any criticisms? I think the monitor would look neater if the screen and bezel were flush and it is a good thing the monitor is fully adjustable because the ambient light sensor can set it too bright depending on room conditions. That's it.
This is a great monitor.

Date:March 30, 2009
the text on this monitor is so blurry it may ruin your eyes. i have the 22 inch version of this monitor and its great but this newer one was big dissappointment. the monitor is just plain fuzzy. and its the only glossy at this size , sure hope HP fixes this soon.

w2558hc = Awesome
Date:March 19, 2009
Great base/stand design: It adjusts height, tilt and rotates; it does it like gliding in every adjustment and feels sturdy, but doesnt pivot like smaller HP models; I guess it doesnt since this thing is BIG. Its glossy frame (and screen) and nice panel makes it a good looking monitor ON or OFF, it doesnt look or feel made from cheap plastic like some other brands. The glossy screen really enhances the clarity of picture. The "Brightview" tech: even in a sunny day with wide open blinds, the brightness works perfect and reflection is not a problem on the usual bright backgrounds of Windows or the internet, in fact, at night/interior lighting, it can be too bright, and here is when the brightness sensor works to perfection (it can be turned off/on as you please). Also related, is the "Vivid Color" tech: I could really see the enhancement in color of pictures and Windows environment in general.
The only mayor con, is that the great brightness of the screen takes its toll by creating the dreaded screen bleeding (in all edges); BUT its only visible on a totally pitch black background/image. I noticed this is somewhat resolved if you set it on/under the 'movie' profile of the monitor, because this activates the Dynamic Contrast Ratio (this is the only way to activate it) 3000:1 (the standar is 1000:1). This was kind of a downer at the beginning, but since then, I really havent noticed it since the mayority of the use has been in Windows and theres no pitch black enviroment in it at all. I've even watched some movies like Dark Knight (batman) and again, no noticeable bleeding and the picture is great, not as amazing as on my 50" Plasma, but theres no comparation there.
I recently upgraded from XP to Vista [Premium] and after installing ALL the UPDATED drivers from Chipset [Compaq V6110] passing through Videocard and monitor, the Vista visual experience has been quite an upgrade in this Monitor.
Aside of the mayor pros, also has the extras of integrated stuff like the Webcam and microphone that is amazingly good for an integrated one, has 3 USB cnxns and also, something they dont describe well: The memory card reader that can act as a STANDALONE media reader/display (no computer needed). So you can use it for pictures, music or videos (movies); it has a USB (extra from the 3 standar) specifically for this feature where you can connect any USB storage device thats in FAT32 or FAT [file system] like a flash drive and it will read it. Also, theres a remote control SPECIFICALLY for this feature of the monitor, doesnt work for anything else. The small remote is like the ones for media on HP notebooks and also it stores away IN the monitor side, by the card reader. And last but not least, the built-in light (LED) at the bottom of the screen, has 3 adjustment levels and its a nice touch in the design.
The complimentary software (aside from drivers and usual documentation) 'My Display' and 'YouCam' works as it should. My Display gives you the interface to make all the adjustments that you would find under the monitor menu like contrast & brightness right from Windows but more importantly, with the help of patterns (background images) related to the adjustment at hand. This makes it really easy to tune the settings at their best. It even gives you the option to calibrate the monitor, which its not under the monitor menu. But I dont recommend it, since the image looks fine under the presets from factory. I tried it and ended with distorted skin tones (in my pictures). YouCam its fun! If you like videochating you'll love the different filters and frames that offers. The filters can change your face's shape in different ways.
Lastly I have owned this for 3 months and there has been no problem or no dead pixels visible at all. I had the w2207 for almost a yr before upgrading and there were no problems either, which is why it gave me the confidence to buy another HP monitor.

Another Top Notch HP Product
Date:January 17, 2009
I used to be totally against Multi-Product Companies for specific items. Meaning only Monitor manufacturers that only made monitors and computer makers who only made computers were the best way to go and get the best quality products. I have since been converted and haven't built my own set-up in 2 years. Hp has sold me on there quality, service and support. This Monitor has everything one could ever want in a cross-over all in one unit. TV - Monitor- Card Reader- Picture Display Viewer- Web-Camera... Only one option HP left out and doesn't really seem to be needed is the Portrait Rotation Feature of the monitor... Some may wish to have but its already so big it is not essential. Thumbs up to HP for convincing a sceptic.

If your looking to replace the home office monitor
Date:January 16, 2009
Another really quality product from HP. It's a huge size upgrade from my previous 19in screen. Love the gloss finish and real easy to setup with the auto functiion. I'm running it with Vista and resolution 1440 x 900. This works great for general web access (large font size), videos, pictures etc. The preffered setting is 1920 x 1200 but I find the font size a little small - must be getting old !! I also fixed the monitor to the wall using the standard VESA 100 x 100 fixing - just needed to by the wall bracket. Another nice feature in the built in desktop light for the darker evenings, has 4 settings (if you include one being off). Go buy one ... you won't be sorry.

Review 13 for HP w2558hc 25.5-inch Vivid Color Full HD Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
This monitor is quite advanced. It is quite more than just a monitor. I love the light it has so that you can see the keyboard when you type in the dark. Also the Web Cam is quite fun to work with. The picture quality is amazing, with Blu-ray playback linked to my HP computer via HDMI cable, the picture quality is intense. Very little to no grain is visible with this monitor. The quality of images from newer high end games is also quite amazing. The monitor is also quite easy to adjust settings for as well. Thanks HP for great products!

Great Monitor
Date:December 7, 2008
Loaded with features and has a great picture. I use it for gaming and internet. I also have the w2207 which is why I choose to stay with HP. Check out what is included besides the great picture with this monitor. Built in card reader, Web camera, USB hub, keyboard light.
One note -- built in speakers are utility grade aka tinny, but I use 5.1 speaker system anyway so this is not a factor for me.
Zero dead pixels!
