I was impressed by how easy the setup was. Ran the CD that came with the printer. It did all the identification for my network. Even picked up the Passwords needed. One of the easiest configs I have ever done. Prints well. Copies nicely. The only issue I am having is with ePrint from an email. I've sent a couple off fine. It's nice to be able to print at home from my office at work. But sometimes the email are returned as undeliverable. Probably operator error. I'll get it figured out. All in all I highly recommend this printer. If I was shopping for a printer this is the one I would get. I was looking for an Airprint compatible printer from our iPhones. This one did it. I did not have to do a thing on the iPhone. Everything was setup. Just selected print and out it came. Great Job HP..

This printer, FAX, scanner, copier is absolutely fantastic! It is unbelievably easy to operate, and I have been able to eliminate several other machines from my computer station because this one does it ALL!!!! I've had many HP copier/printers over the past 15 years, but I finally stepped into the 21st century after my last printer died, and I bought this one.
I facilitate a support group for people with multiple sclerosis, and nornally print around 200 pages of information for the group each time we meet. This machine will fill all my needs in one machine, and I couldn't be happier with it! It is quiet, and so fast The printing is clear, and the machine makes great copies! I am so pleased that I waited 4 months to buy it, and finally found a printer, scanner, copier, FAX that I, as a 65 year old woman, could operate with ease.

This printer is the best HP printer by far. The main reason was that it is compatible with Windows 8. I love the ePrint and to be able to print from my smartphone as well. The extra paper tray is great it allows me to print from either tray and I am able to do double side printing. When printing out photos is beautiful with the HP inks cost less than the other HP print which was a Photosmart all in one as well. HP is diffently making quality products.

This is a great product compared to my passed printers. The speed and what you can do with this printer is outstanding. Keep in mind, I have only had the unit for a couple of weeks but no complaints so far.

This printer is used in my home office and in my small business. HP got this one right. Great features, much improved over the 8500 series. Ink costs are very reasonable. I'd recommend this printer highly.

We are very happy with our purchase. Set up was easy and the printer works flawlessly. It's nice to be able to sit in the living room and send the print jobs to the office in the back of our house. Copying and scanning also works very well.

We used an Officejet Pro 7780 for years and were pleased with it. It finally reached the point that we needed to replace it. After much research we settled on the Officejet Pro 8600 Premier. This printer is an absolute dream. Scanning is as simple and quick as making copies. Faxing is fast and even prints a summary after it is complete.Printer features make all jobs dead easy to do. Set up took about 20 minutes for both our desktop and laptop. We love this printer.

My Dell 3110cn color laser printer bit the dust and I was unwilling to pay $300 to get it fixed. I decided that I would stick with tried and true inkjet technology. I have had good luck with HP printers in the past, so I did some online research and saw that the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium e-All-in-One was getting great reviews. HP had a special going, and having found an additional online coupon code for an additional $15 savings, I committed to the purchase. The printer arrived within a few days. I took it to my office, removed the Dell, and started the assembly. The directions were easy to follow and, in no time, the printer was up and running. Besides the usual features, the color touchpad also lists many apps, and you can download more. My wife likes the built-in Sudoku app which prints out a daily puzzle. I tried out the eprint feature by printing a photograph directly from my Droid Razr. It's like magic! With two trays, I can do regular printing from Tray 2 and photo prints from Tray 1. Note that for eprint to work, you need to place the 4X6 photo paper in Tray 1 (the top tray) and set Tray 2 (the bottom tray) as the default tray where you would load in your 8 1/2 x 11 paper. It works flawlessly and both regular prints and photos are of excellent quality. I am very happy with my purchase.

I have owned my Officejet Pro 8600 Premium for a couple of weeks now, so it is early. However it has been excellent so far. Print quality and speed are both excellent. Set up was the easiest and best I have ever experienced on a printer! The ability to print directly to my printer from anywhere via email is exceptional and works excellently. Every feature works very well. Two sided copying, faxing, scanning, etc. I couldn't be more pleased. I would just like to remain pleased as time goes on and only time will tell on that. However I am off to the best start I think possible.

Excellent scanning for letter and legal sized documents. Change between page size has to be done through software (click icon on your desktop). Cannot be done through unit screen where everything else is done.

If your considering the HP 8600 OfficeJet Pro because of the second printer tray, look for another product. The optional 2nd printer tray is not supported on Max OSX. Although the driver recognizes the second tray the Mac print dialog box will not allow you to select it. This product has a lot of potential but in regards to 2nd tray printing option it is a complete FAIL.
There are numerous articles about this failure posted on HP websites but nothing about a solution from HP.

Bravo to HP for finally getting back on track. This 8600 Premium replaces my 8500 Premium that was a nightmare from the minute I purchased it and ended up being responsible for my computer files recently getting corrupted. A paper receiving tray that was not anchored and fell to the floor constantly, inability to print return addresses on envelopes, printer heads that needed to be replaced, constant cycling of a reset process that ate up ink....you get the idea. HP products had been on the downslide for several years and it all peaked with the 8500. My new 8600 is QUIET, has the easiest set up of any HP product that I have ever owned, has an anchored paper tray, prints envelopes :), computer fax to printer feature that works seamlessly, an easy to operate touch screen with great animated tutorials, fast and high quality printing, copying & scanning. In short, everything a printer should be and that we had grown to expect from HP many years ago. Have not yet tried air print feature. Although it has a large footprint and profile, its all black casing somehow seems to melt into my office environment and the many great features make its size irrelevant. The only complaint is how the paper trays interface with one another and with different paper media but the many other positive features drown that one out. So thank you HP for raising the bar and for finally reading and responding to your loyal HP customers unhappy reviews with this printer's predecessor. One last thing - the support representative that I called with a few questions was in no hurry to run off of the phone until my questions had been satisfied! She was awesome. Buy this printer! You will be very pleased.

since you asked for a review, you're going to get one. I purchased the 8600 premium. the printer works great otherwise, easy to hook up. It upgraded it's own software, print quality is above average and the drawer is a great place to store extra ink, just don't put paper in it or in the event of power failure or hard reset of the printer it will pull a sheet on P.O.S.T. and then not know where it came from or that there is more down there. I would have liked to have the extra capacity but it's not a deal breaker

When legal size paper is added to either tray, the specific tray extends out past the front of the printer. This was probably done to minimize it's footprint, and the printer does not automatically detected that legal size paper has been added into either tray.

I couldn't believe how easy it was to set up!!! I was expecting an all day project and then a call to customer service. But it only took me 30 mins. to set up and it actually works!!!!! It doesn't take up much space and looks very nice. I would buy it again.

I really like this printer, especially the feed for the scanner. Now I don't have to put one sheet at a time on the scan glass. The two trays hold plenty of paper so I don't have to worry about running out of paper all the time. The setup is straight forward and simple. Wireless setup is a breeze. I especially like that HP offered the three year next day replacement when I registered the printer at what I thought was a very reasonable price, which I took advantage of.. Also I really like being able to print from my phone and tablet.
