Server is very small, quiet, and efficient. Came with one 250GB drive and no internal CD drive. Bought 8GB RAM, 2x2TB Green WD HDs, and a 32x CD drive. Disassembling is a little tricky but doable and I like that it is so compact and quiet. Config RAID 1 requires to look a little bit more thoroughly into the BIOS but not too hard. Installation of Win Serv 2008 and Exchange 2010 went well. I hope that the 8GB max RAM won't be a problem at some point. It would have been nice to have two further memory slots but otherwise really great.

The price is not bad but BEWARE IT DOES NOT include an O/S (operating system). For the exact same price you can purchase a inexpensive desktop that has 1) more ram 2) a keyboard 3) an optical drive. That is exactly what i did after spending 3 days and multple returns of this server; before I found out that it did not include an O/S. While the idea of having a dedicated server sounds nice a cheap PC with Windows Server 2011 makes more sense because you get 1) more ram (4 instead of 1) 2) easy to change and upgrade part, and 3) something that you already know (a pc). Thisis not a bad system but if you decide to buy it go with the $850.00 dollar version or just buy a $300.00 PC and make it a server (like I did).

Now adays, applicatons needs more RAM to run efficiently. 2GB is a bit outdated.

I purchased two of these servers. One is running Server 2008 R2 with Microsoft Threat Management Gateway software and is my firewall, the other is running Windows HomeServer 2011.
I added a second NIC to the TMG machine, getting to the point where you can actually plug something in to one of the two expansion slots took a bit of work disassembling the server but other than that, no complaints.
Both of these server have been running for about a year with no issues what so ever. Very quiet and low heat.

Got this server to replace my current HP home server. I upgraded the Micro Server to 8GB memory and added two 2TB SATA drives created a RAID 1 Lun and loaded WHS 2011 without any issues. Performs better than expected and using it as my primary video streaming server. It's very quiet and does not generate a lot of heat.

I have never had this much trouble loading an o/s. First it wouldnt recognize the hard drive, then a series of BOD's with varying messages. After spending the weekend trying I finally gave up.
