I just love my HP TouchSmart. It does everything, with a clear picture, fast and just love the touch part of this computer. Great buy for me.

I wanted to replace my six-year old computer with a new one that was fast and easy to use. This computer certainly met my expectations. Great performance at a reasonable price. Display quality is great.

I did a lot of research on all-in-one desktops before finally settling on this purchase, and it certainly paid off! The whole market has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and performance features: bluray players, TV tuners, touchscreens, faster processors, higher memory, bigger screen sizes, etc. I thought I'd have to compromise on some of those features to fit my budget. But especially after customizing this machine to include a TV tuner and HDMI port, I still stayed within my budget and got everything I wanted - and more! I've had it for about a week now and am extremely happy.
I am using the computer primarily for work & school, and the i5 processor and 6 MB of memory that I chose have stood up nicely so far in the face of my multitasking and CPU-hogging academic software (SPSS, Qiqqa, Scrivener, MS Office, etc.). As for entertainment, I strongly recommend getting the TV tuner. The Windows Media Center software lets you view TV listings, record shows with DVR, and access Netflix (among other things), and it comes with an intuitively designed remote. As for the touchscreen, every industry review that I read in the course of my research (CNET, PC mag, etc.) raved about HP's touchsmart software, but I still enjoy it more than I expected. (Pro tip: be sure to buy a stylus to prevent fingerprints on the screen!). Even though I've opted for the traditional desktop over the "HP Touchsmart Magic Canvas" desktop for now, I like having the option - and I hear that Windows 8 may be more optimized for touch screens as well. I like the sound quality of the speakers (though I've admittedly become accustomed to laptop speakers over the years... so maybe I'm not the best judge). And despite what another review said, you CAN adjust/tilt the monitor back for your comfort (though you can't lay it flat as with some other HP models). You can also store the keyboard under the monitor, for additional space-saving... which is probably why you're attracted to an all-in-one in the first place!
A few negatives: Windows Media Center does tend to freeze and crash a lot, even right out of the box. If you google "Windows Media Center freeze," you'll find out that this is a common problem that hopefully will be fixed in future software updates. I've learned to only use it for TV and Netflix (not music) and to only open it when all other programs are closed, so as not to risk losing anything. I was also disappointed that the clunky, standard keyboard came with it and not the Elite keyboard. I have already ordered the Elite keyboard as a replacement, but I'm not sure if it will connect without a USB receiver like the standard keyboard did. (Note that the manual will have you believe you need a USB receiver for the mouse and keyboard... there isn't one!). Also, while the machine is very quiet overall, there's a chance that young people will be annoyed by a very high-frequency noise while it's on. (I'm 26 and aging out of that hearing range but every now and then it bothers me).
All in all, this is a near-perfect machine to cover all your bases without breaking the bank. I highly recommend it!

When I purchased this system, the speakers offered included a surround system. The PC does not have all the required jacks. Evan after purchasing a different speaker system, the external speakers only work as a sub-woofer.

There are a number of plusses to the system I purchased. The only thing I did not anticipate was that the large monitor does not have any physical adjustment capabilities to enhance an ergonomic environment. Additionally, I should have asked for the option to upgrade keyboard and mouse, but failed to recognize what an impact that would have given my comment above about the monitor.

My grandaughter loves it and does her homework on it. She is 12 and uses the touch screen more than the key board. I still use the key board but she may convert me. I received my order in one week.
