It definitely is a sleek book but the only thing it is missing is a DVD/CD Rom drive. I hate packing the add on around. It is becoming a pain. Everything else about this computer is superb.

I got this laptop over president's day sale as a student, so with tax and shipping I ended up paying a bit less than the current price. I chose the highest processor speed they offered, which is currently the one they offer as included in the basic price. I also chose it with 4 GB RAM. So, pretty much I have the one that you get for the current price. I am really happy with the laptop. It is a nice design. I like the keyboard, it is ideal when you have to type a lot. It is overall probably less sturdy than some other laptops, so I am not sure this one would survive many falls. I primarily use it as a home computer and don't see many travel uses in the future.
The laptop is fast, the graphics are fine and it is really quiet and doesn't get hot. I am far away from our wireless router and the connection speed is very good. So far I didn't have an issues with the laptop.
Windows 8. Well, I actually like it. It's like my desktop had a baby with my tablet. I overall think you will get more out of Windows 8 if you have a touchscreen, but it is fine without it as well. You still can use the regular desktop format and you still have access to everything from there. I have no issue with the start button being gone. The only thing, when I am looking at pictures or browse around folders I sometimes end up in the new screen, the start screen and I don't really know yet why, or exactly what I accidentally do to make that happen. Overall, you'll have to play around a bit with Windows 8, but I really don't see why everyone is so upset about it.
Overall, I would buy this laptop again and I would recommend it. Oh, I am also not a gamer, but I play Mafia Wars and it used to be really slow on my old laptop but it's really fast on this one. So long.

Windows 7 Try
PostedMarch 4, 2013
You would think MS Win8 would be nice on a netbook. Yes, this is a netbook, it missing a ROM drive. Once I removed the Default RAM, which was casuing the system to blue screen with a memory error. I installed my own the system got a lot faster and was stable. Removing the HDD for an Intel 520 SSD this system was blazing fast. First trick was getting all the drivers for Win 7 Pro, which is kind of hard since HP doesn't list the chipsets for this system very well. Realtek FE driver was the first one I was able to decode and install. Windows Update finished off the others. The inside is a bit of a mess, motherboard is upside down, forcing the user to remove it to install the motherboard to install RAM. The Ethernet Chipset is a bit SLOW (being a 10/100 FE) it should of been a GE or 10/100/1000. Bluetooh should be default this day and age, I can connect my phone, mouse and sound system. They changed the plug again so my HP Smart AC/DC Charger doesn't work on this model.
